Cocoa Locks – hot chocolate for hair growth

Beauty, Fashion and Beauty, Uncategorized

…And is the effect as good as the taste?

cocoa locks

There has been a bunch of products for hair growth on the market lately. The famous MSM, gummy bears, hot chocolate, milkshake, different vitamins. And I definitely didn’t try them all :D. But I have tried some and I can compare Cocoa Locks to them. First, I tried some vitamins for hair and nails a few years ago. Partly because they contained vitamins vegetarians could lack, partly because my nails got fragile after high school and my hair weren’t as thick and strong as they used to be when I was younger. I blame it on the stress and the fact I lost a lot of weight when I was in high school. So yeah, I thought this vitamins would help. I was so wrong. I can’t remember the name of the brand, but it was an organic brand, the vitamins were supposed to be really natural etc. The effect was hardly seen and the thing I remember the most is how sick I was after them. If I didn’t eat a big (I mean really big) meal before I ate them, I felt extremely sick. They just weren’t the right thing for my stomach. Then there was MSM. The thing that had the effect. It really helped – when I was drinking it regularly. The problem was that it was a habit for a month, and then I forgot about MSM. And I started drinking it again…And quit a month or two later. I just couldn’t get used to the taste. I wanted to drink it every moment, but I just kept forgetting because..well…I didn’t like it. Do you forget to eat a piece of chocolate? Rarely. Do you forget to eat of drink something that you don’t like but is good for you? Can happen often. I just couldn’t make a habit out of drinking MSM.

Balea and hair removal

balea

I have always liked dm drogerie markt‘s brand Balea. It’s affordable (actually quite cheap) and also cruelty-free (that always makes me happy:)). And mostly quite good. Just like with any cosmetic brand with low prices, there are great stuff and there are not so great stuff. At least that is my opinion and I noticed this with almost every brand that makes me say: This is so cheap, I better take two! For example, I love eyeliners, nail polishes and lip liners by Essence Cosmetics, foundations, primers, powders and eyebrow shades by Catrice Cosmetics … and I have learned what fits me through years of trying out different make up. I was immediately attracted to Balea because of – PRICES! 😀

Review: my favourite eyeliner

Putting on eyeliner always reminds me of memes like this one. Seems as making a pretty line above your eye with an eyeliner is rocket science. I had so many problems when I started – should the line be defined, or should I blur it out, should it be thick or thin, should the tail be long or short? But honestly, we are finding problems where there are none. You have to get used to everything, and just like with figuring out how to draw your eyebrows, contour your face or even put on mascara without ruining your eye shadow, it takes some practice. You have to find out which shapes fit your eyes and face, which brush is the right for you, even what colour is the one for you. I found my perfect eyeliner at the stand with Essence cosmetics.

REVIEW: Purifying mask by Lavera

One of my biggest beauty sins is that I don’t use facial masks regularly. I’m a lazy ass. More or less, I have a stable morning and night beauty routine: I always use day and night creme, always remove my makeup with cleansing milk, use a serum, an eye-cream … and so on. But I often forget about the mask. I always want to use it before I wash my hair but after a busy day, I remember my plans when I am already out of the bath. Since I want to be kinder to my skin, I decided to try out some facial masks and make it a habit. First, here is a purifying mask by Lavera – a brand that sells natural cosmetics, it doesn’t test on animals and offers vegan cosmetics. I actually started of pretty good:) Why?

How to cover up a hickey

Beauty, Cosmetics, Uncategorized

valentines-6-of-10

This one seemed appropriate for the day after Valentines, when we usually take some more time to spend it with our SO. It’s still covers a problem we have to face it maybe a few times a year and it’s harder in the summer, when you can’t wear a scarf or a turtleneck. They are ways to speed up the healing process but what to do when you don’t have time and you want to cover that love bite/hickey fast? Here, make up is your best friend. And also chokers – this trend has more pros than just looking good. So you woke up with a hickey – what to do now?

My top three URBAN DECAY products

Beauty, Uncategorized

…and why do I always buy something from this brand when I stop by an Urban Decay store while travelling abroad. To be honest, it’s one of the most quality brands and I’ve never been disappointed with any product I bought until now. Yes, it’s a bit more on the expensive side and that’ s why the famous Naked palette hasn’t found it’s way to my make up drawer…yet! I also adore Urban Decay as its makeup is cruelty-free, it doesn’t test on animals and doesn’t allow others to test on their behalf. If you need additional proof – the brand is certified by PETA and The Leaping Bunny Program as cruelty-free. A lot of their products are also vegan.

Currently, there are three ”makeup essentials” by Urban Decay in my make up drawer: a primer, a makeup setting spray and a lipstick.

My experience with gel manicure

Beauty, Uncategorized

Before I decided to get a gel manicure, my nails were in an awful state for a few years. First, I worked in a cafe, then in a store – washing the dishes all the time and carrying lots of boxes around did a lot of damage. Then there was the first year of postgraduate study and along with it came a lot of stress. I changed the field of study and after focusing mainly on design and practical work for a few years, it was difficult to get used to reading lots of books and writing seminar papers. As a result, I started biting my nails and it was almost impossible to make them look decent. Therefore I decided to try out gel nails and see how it feels to have long nails again.

Freedom Make Up London Lipsticks

You can never have too many lipsticks, right? I always wear at least three shades in my purse everywhere, I just put them in my cosmetic bag (I’m one of those people who carry their hand cream, a pocket mirror and a black eye pencil everywhere, along with some plasters – I’m a clumsy girl:)) and then switch them depending on the time of the year or the occasion. Or sometimes, I just keep adding them until I can’t close the bag anymore and then I make a selection. All in all, I’m definitely a lipstick person. I tried out Lipstick collection Makeup Artist Pro Favorites by Freedom makeup and I have some nice things to tell you about it.
