Okay, it’s time to share some holiday excitement on the blog, too :). Even though I don’t like the ”Xmas spirit” before the beginning of December, I want to tell you a bit about the things I’m preparing on my blog for December. I’ve decided to post every day from the 1 to 24 of December, just like a blogging advent calendar. I’ve been thinking about doing this ”challenge” ever since I started writing, but I never had time and even motivation with all of the college work. But lately, I’ve had so much ideas, so many things I want to write about, and I think that I’ll be able to post every day. So get ready for a bunch of winter and festive outfits, delicious recipes, fun DIYs, great giveaways (YAY!) and also some guest posts (but I’m not telling you who will be the authors just yet:)).
This photo is a quick preview of a recipe I am preparing and will be posted in the beginning of December :). And since I’m still planing the details I want to ask you if there is anything special you would like to read about? Let me know in the comments 🙂

We woke up early last Saturday, as we had a new mattress delivered. Well, early for us, who like to sleep until at least 10 in the morning and had spend the last night playing Activity with friends…and went to bed an hour or two after midnight. Even though we were thinking about going to Bled or Bohinj, we decided to rest for another hour and then go to the seaside – but not just for a few hours, but for the whole weekend. One hour later, we were in a car, my parents said they will pick up Ida, and off to Portorož. Nothing planed out, we just went and spent two warm days by the sea. From time to time, we all need a change of environment and a break from busy schedule, right :)?
A post dedicated to coffee lovers seems appropriate before the beginning of another working week. If you can’t imagine starting the day without coffee, you might be interested in what I have to say about Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machines after using one for almost one year. I got used to coffee makers while I was living with my friends – one of them had an Illy espresso machine. And it was the best coffee I had ever tried in my life. When I moved away, I usually made really strong black coffee (turkish coffee), especially during the exams, but it was a bit too strong for my stomach and I didn’t feel good if I drank it too often. So I started looking for alternatives. I never liked the taste of instant coffee, and let’s face it, some of the instant coffee mixtures are more sugar than coffee. I remembered that some of my friends had Dolce Gusto coffee machines at home and that I loved that kind of coffee. It took me some time to find some good prices and I found Dolce Gusto OBLO, which also got a design award in 2015, and was on discount, so I bought it on this site for around 50-60 euros. And for the capsules, I bought them here – cheaper than in a grocery store:).
Rome for students (or anyone else who wants to travel on a budget and get the best experience)
I’ve always dreamed of visiting Rome, and since I’ve started working in a museum, even more. And when I found out that Ryanair flies to Rome from Trieste (less than 2 hours away from Ljubljana), I had to book the tickets. Me and my boyfriend found a cozy room in a guesthouse with a shared bathroom and kitchen near the main station, close to the center of the city and the main attractions.
After a rainy September, when I thought the summer is completely over, came a warm and sunny October and with it time to put my rain boots back in the closet for a while. I kept the trench coats and over-the-knee boots though :). Even though I’m more of a summer person, I love the autumn colours, I adore how the leaves change colour and sitting in the sun while watching the beautiful nature. I love the evenings in the city, eating chestnut and just walking around not so crowded streets. I love how my hair and clothes flow in the wind. I love autumn sunsets. And I definitely love this autumn outfit.
…And is the effect as good as the taste?
There has been a bunch of products for hair growth on the market lately. The famous MSM, gummy bears, hot chocolate, milkshake, different vitamins. And I definitely didn’t try them all :D. But I have tried some and I can compare Cocoa Locks to them. First, I tried some vitamins for hair and nails a few years ago. Partly because they contained vitamins vegetarians could lack, partly because my nails got fragile after high school and my hair weren’t as thick and strong as they used to be when I was younger. I blame it on the stress and the fact I lost a lot of weight when I was in high school. So yeah, I thought this vitamins would help. I was so wrong. I can’t remember the name of the brand, but it was an organic brand, the vitamins were supposed to be really natural etc. The effect was hardly seen and the thing I remember the most is how sick I was after them. If I didn’t eat a big (I mean really big) meal before I ate them, I felt extremely sick. They just weren’t the right thing for my stomach. Then there was MSM. The thing that had the effect. It really helped – when I was drinking it regularly. The problem was that it was a habit for a month, and then I forgot about MSM. And I started drinking it again…And quit a month or two later. I just couldn’t get used to the taste. I wanted to drink it every moment, but I just kept forgetting because..well…I didn’t like it. Do you forget to eat a piece of chocolate? Rarely. Do you forget to eat of drink something that you don’t like but is good for you? Can happen often. I just couldn’t make a habit out of drinking MSM.
…and a healthy breakfast idea! Breakfast is probably my favourite meal of the day. I rarely leave the house without eating something and drinking coffee. If I’m in a hurry and don’t have time for a proper breakfast, I’m usually cranky until I have time to at least drink a cup of coffee. Plus most of my favourite foods are ˝breakfast foods˝. Cereal, granola, cottage cheese, toast, omelette…with the exception of avocado and green smoothies. You can’t love them all :). Well, I decided to make granola again, as I haven’t made it in ages! And I also made a travel version of cottage cheese and granola for busy days. But first, here is the granola recipe:
It looks and feels like summer is officially over on this cold Monday morning. Time to wrap in that cozy blanket with a cup of hot cocoa! And since we’re talking about hot cocoa, I have to share a new chocolate cake recipe. It’s just what you need when you don’t have a lot of time to bake something but you want to make something that looks and tastes great.
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve loved to visit Croatia in the summer. I love the islands with the clearest water, I love the seaside towns, I love the beautiful nature. This year, I decided to go on a longer vacation than usual. I’ve spend almost two weeks (yeah I know it’s not that long, but for a girl that hasn’t spent more than 5 days at the seaside for the last 10 years, it is) in a camp in Istria, near Novigrad. But I can’t be at one place for too long, I decided to go on a one day trip to a lovely town by the coast, I’ve wanted to visit for a while – Rovinj.
What are the little things that make you dream about summer? Is it the scent of sunscreen and pine trees? The feeling of salt on your skin? The sound of waves or the song that reminds you of the first time you went to the seaside with your friends? Wind messing with your hair? Or is it your favourite summer dress or pair of bikinis? Maybe it’s just a pattern or a colour that reminds you of summer?
